Just completed page 144. Moving closer to the end slowly but surely. That’s 42 pages penciled from July 18, 2010 until now Jun 18, 2011. My average has been 4o pages year over year and I’ve already met that with a month to spare. Gotta love progress, God is good! OK, enough typing, time to start page 145!

I know I haven’t posted for a while. I will try to post more often. Here is a brief update.

I just completed penciling page 132. This is taking a lot longer than anticipated but I am still working diligently. 21 more pages to go and the penciling will be complete. All that will be left to do is inking, coloring and lettering, lol! Know that this will be finished in God’s time…which means that it will be right on time…know that God is good all the time.

2010 San Diego Comic-Con is upon us!

I’m kind of hyped for this year’s Comic-Con, I can only attend on Sunday but I expect it to be a great day. After hanging at Comic-Con for the day I always come back re-energized for this project.

I use Comic-Con as a way to mark our progress. When attending Comic-Con 2008, I had 22 pages penciled. When attending Comic-Con 2009, I had 61 pages penciled and this year, when we attend Comic-Con 2010, I’ll have 102 pages penciled (103 if I crank another one out before Sunday). That’s 40 pages year over year from 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. Do I wish I could have more done? Yes, but I’ll take what I can get, a consistant average ain’t bad.

If we continue at this rate, by next year I should only have about 8 or 9 more pages to pencil. Chapter 4 ends on page 119 and chapter 5, while not yet broken down into pages/panels, is projected to be about 32 pages once penciled.

So, holla at yo’ boys, DMC and J-Dub while in San Diego. We will definately hit the CCAS event (see below) but after that we are chillin’. Hope to see you there!

Moderator Buzz Dixon (Snokie Stories) and panelists Sergio Cariello (The Action Bible) and Eric Jansen (The Christ of Prophecy) discuss the challenges involved in adapting the words of scripture into visual media. A short devotional message will precede the panel discussion, put on by the Christian Comic Arts Society. Santa Rosa Room, Marriott Hotel and Marina.

Today’s Calling is For Inspiration!

If you’re on this site you’re interested in The Calling and we thank you for your interest. However, this blog will sometimes discuss the book and other times we will just speak from our hearts. Today I’m coming from the latter viewpoint.
Is anyone out there feeling the pressure besides me? I wear a lot of hats right now husband and father being the most important while simultaneously chasing multiple dreams. There aren’t enough hours in the day and my only choice is to give up something or sleep less. I need some inspiration from those of you who are living your dreams already. I can see the end of my season of preparation but I’m trying to provide for my family at the same time. Let me know how you’re feeling out there family.
